S E R V I C E
Every Aaronsen engagement entails a combination of applied skills and
competencies. Each client is different, and no single solution or set
of procedures can be applied without change to all of the problems our
clients are likely to encounter. ***Aaronsen provides standard services
to deal with common problems cost-effectively, but we also have the
expertise to solve uncommon problems, and provide custom solutions, if
that is what is required.
Technology Auditing
During our Technology Auditing process, we evaluate the extent and
effectiveness of your current technology base to determine how well it
is supporting your corporate mission. We study alternative uses and
reorganizations of your existing technology infrastructure that may
better benefit your business. We emphasize leveraging your current
technological assets whenever possible to keep costs to a minimum.
Many companies have a significant installed base of obsolete hardware.
Unfortunately these machines will not usually support a successful
Internet strategy. If we determine that your existing technology is
inadequate to support your current and future needs, we can suggest
cost effective solutions with an emphasis on forward compatability and
future scalability.
Strategy Planning
Companies with little or no previous experience with the Internet may
not have the skills necessary to come up with an effective Internet
strategy, or to implement that strategy. They may have
unrealistically high or low expectations of what Internet/Intranet
technologies can do for their business, and of the costs involved.
Aaronsen has both the technological and business skills required to
create an effective and realistic Internet strategy which will fit
your business needs and budget.
Internet technologies are often in the press these days, but most of
this press takes the form of either a sound bite which conveys no
useful information except to elicit a "must buy" impulse, or technical
documents which are impossible for most people to understand or
evaluate effectively. Aaronsen will research all the technical
alternatives available to solve a particular problem you are facing,
and will present our recommendations based on thoughtful evaluation of
the technologies' fitness, instead of advertisements and sound
bites.
Implementation
After all evaluation and planning has been done, Aaronsen can stay
with the client to implement the new strategy if the company does not
have the resources required to do their own implementation. From
overseeing hardware and software installation, to writing and
distributing policy documents, to coordinating training on new
business processes, Aaronsen will remain deeply involved in the
process as long as we are needed.
While many plans are implemented nearly flawlessly, some encounter
unforeseen stumbling blocks. Swift and drastic changes in markets and
technology, sudden changes in corporate management structure or
desires, budget shortfalls and other disasters can all contribute
adversely to the implementation of a technology strategy. Aaronsen's
expertise mitigates these problems and provides a smoother
implementation process.
Crisis Management
As well as dealing with long-term planning and implementation,
Aaronsen can help solve a company's short-term or emergency problems.
Even companies who have all the resources necessary to maintain an
effective Information strategy may not have what it takes to make
forward progress when it's really necessary, or to deal with major
crises when they arise from time to time. It is not cost effective
for a company to hire extra manpower which will be underutilized most
of the time, on the off-chance that a similar crisis might happen
again. Aaronsen provides crucial short-term organizational and
technical resources to resolve crisis situations as quickly and
cost-effectively as possible.
Knowledge Transfer
Aaronsen is committed to Knowledge Transfer. When we provide a
solution for a company, we make sure the company has the resources
necessary to follow through with the solution's implementation and
maintenance. We work as closely as possible with in-house staff to
avoid the "Not Invented Here" syndrome which holds back productivity
in many IT departments. We provide documentation and training for our
solutions, so a company is not left in the dark to pick up the pieces
where we left off.
